Born、January 17th, 1980 in Myazaki, Japan

Daichi Fujiki graduated from Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music in 2002, during which time he studied under Kanichi Suzuki. He then went on to complete his studies at the Opera Institute of New National Theatre Tokyo, where he studied under Sergio Bertocchi, Martin Katz, Marcella Reale, Brian Masuda, Giovanni Reggioli, Kathryn Cathcart and Richard Harrell.
 
During his undergraduate studies, he appeared as a soloist in the annual performance of Messiah. Since then he has appeared in various performances of Mozart's Coronation Mass and Requiem, as well as Handel's Messiah.
 
Daichi Fujiki's debut as an opera singer came to him at the age of 23, where he sang the role of Don Cruzio in Andreas Homoki's new production of "Le Nozze di Figaro" under the conduction of Ulf Shrimer, which opened the 2003/2004 season of the New National Theater in Tokyo.
 
During his studies at the Opera Institute, Daichi Fujiki's operatic roles were Don Ottavio in “Don Giovanni”, Don Basilio and Don Curzio in “Le Nozze di Figaro”, Eisenstein in “Die Fledermaus” and Idamante in “Idomeneo”.
In October 2005, Daichi was seen at the Melbourne International Arts Festival in “Green”, a production of Saburo Teshigawara and his dance company KARAS, where he participated as an opera singer.
 
In addition, Daichi Fujiki has been granted the 2005-2006 Fellowship by the Japanese Government Overseas Study Programme for Artists, which gives young artists of proven talent a chance to continue their studies abroad. He has began his studies in Bologna, Italy on November 1st, 2005.
